Tour Plan
Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Kampala. Your knowledgeable driver guide will accompany you on the 7-8 hour drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, providing commentary along the way. Enjoy the beautiful Ugandan scenery as you travel, with stops at the Uganda Equator for photos and a water experiment, and in Mbarara town for lunch. Arrive at your accommodation in the evening for dinner and overnight.
After an early morning breakfast, transfer to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park headquarters for a briefing by a ranger guide on gorilla trekking etiquette. Then, hike into the forest in search of the gorillas, which can take a few hours or even a full day depending on their location. The trek can be strenuous, so consider hiring a porter to assist with your luggage. Once you find the mountain gorillas, spend a magical one hour observing them in their natural habitat, watching as they eat, care for their young, and go about their daily activities.
After lunch and some relaxation, visit the Batwa pygmy community, who were the original inhabitants of the Bwindi forest before being resettled. Engage with the Batwa, learn about their traditional way of life, and watch as they perform their songs and dances. Return to your hotel for dinner and relaxation.
After breakfast, depart Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and head back to Kampala, with a stop at the Uganda Equator in Kayabwe. Here, you'll have the opportunity to stand in two different hemispheres at the same time and participate in a water experiment that demonstrates the Earth's division into the northern and southern hemispheres. Enjoy lunch en route before continuing to Kampala or Entebbe airport for your departure.
