Your professional tour guide will pick you up from your hotel or the airport in Entebbe. If you arrive early at the airport, you can check in and then head to Mabamba Swamp, just a 10-minute ferry ride and 20-minute drive away.
While gliding through the swamp in a wooden boat, you'll have the chance to spot the famous shoebill stork, Uganda's most sought-after bird. Keep an eye out for other species like the African jacana, African fish eagle, and pied kingfisher.
After lunch at your Entebbe hotel, you can optionally visit the Entebbe Botanical Gardens for a nature walk and more birdwatching.
After breakfast, your driver-guide will take you to Murchison Falls National Park. Highlights include the Murchison Falls rapids, Uganda's largest national park with plains game like lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephants, and concentrations of hippos and Nile crocodiles.
You'll stop for lunch en route. If time allows, you can visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda with wild white rhinos, before continuing to your accommodation.
After an early breakfast, go on a game drive across Murchison's rolling plains to spot wildlife and birds. Return for lunch and rest.
In the afternoon, take a boat trip to the base of the falls to see hippos, crocodiles, and waterbirds. You can hike to the top of the falls for stunning views, though it's a strenuous trek.
After breakfast, depart for Kibale Forest, home to chimpanzees, black-and-white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L'Hoest's monkeys, and Uganda mangabeys[4]. The scenic drive passes villages, lush countryside, and tea plantations.
Relax at your accommodation. Optionally visit the Amabere Caves for cultural insights or the crater lakes.
After a briefing, trek the chimps in Kibale Forest with a ranger guide. Spend an hour observing these amazing primates.
After lunch, take the Bigodi Swamp Walk to see more wildlife and learn about local culture, including traditional food preparation and weaving.
Embark on the 7-hour drive to Mgahinga National Park, home to both mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. Have lunch en route and dinner at your accommodation.
After an early breakfast and briefing, enter the Bwindi Forest to track mountain gorillas. The time and terrain vary with the gorillas' movements. Once located, you'll have a magical hour observing these gentle giants.
After breakfast and a briefing, trek for 3-4 hours to see the golden monkeys. Return for lunch, then optionally visit the Batwa pygmy community. Enjoy traditional performances and encounters with the local people.
Have a stopover for lunch in Mbarara and at the Uganda Equator in Kayabwe. Take photos straddling the hemispheres and watch the water experiment demonstrating the earth's split into north and south.
Continue to Kampala or Entebbe airport for your departure.
